Cantemus Cum Spiritu at Wells Cathedral 28th July – 3rd August 2025

Get ready for a musical adventure with Cantemus Cum Spiritu! Designed for advanced singers and choir leaders, these events are your chance to come together, sing at an elite level, and have an unforgettable time.

Our mission is simple: to help you fall in love with church music all over again and to bring that joy back to your own choirs. We start each event with the confidence that you know the notes and lyrics, so we can really get into the music and unleash your full expressive power.

From 28th July – 3rd August we will be singing the services at Wells Cathedral. This will include Evensongs on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday (all at 5.15PM) and Sunday (3:00PM) and Sunday Eucharist at 10:30AM

Wells Cathedral is iconic and is without doubt one of the most loved of all ecclesiastical buildings. It is a huge thrill to be able to take Cantemus to this wondeful place, where we can immerse ourselves in the life of the building and the city, as we blend our voices with the fading echos of singers who have raised their voices in centuries gone by.

If you’re applying for this course, you need to be sure that you can arrive knowing the music for the first two services, and with a good knowledge of the music for Sunday Eucharist. If not, you need to be a really top level sight-reader. We want everyone to hit the ground running so we can dive straight into making beautiful music.

We will meet at 10.50 am on Monday 28th to rehearse for that evening.

Most days will commence at 10.30am tith lunch from 1:00PM to 3:00PM before reconvening for an afternoon rehearsal prior to Evensong.

The music is yet to be confirmed but will include a varied programme of familiar and less familiar works.

We will be taking a maximum of 40 singers 16 Sopranos 8 Altos, 8 Tenors and 8 Basses.
