Ben is a beloved and vibrant presence in our team, known for his sharp wit, warm personality, and a unique sense of humour that always lifts the mood. Over many years, he has devoted himself to the church musician’s craft, serving both Anglican and Catholic contexts with deep commitment.

In his varied roles — assistant organist at St George’s Cathedral, Southwark; director of music at the Servite Priory, Fulham Road; All Saints, Blackheath; The Shrine of St. Thomas of Canterbury, Burgate; and currently at St Mary of Charity, Faversham — he has developed a profound mastery of polyphony and chant, growing ever more adept at balancing tradition, discipline, and the expressive possibilities of modern liturgy.

Beyond the liturgical sphere, Ben is a distinguished music therapist, bringing compassion, listening, and creative imagination into therapeutic practice. He is also a professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where he mentors students, shapes pedagogy, and contributes to the musical life of one of the UK’s leading conservatoires.

Ben’s versatility as a musician is one of his greatest strengths. He is increasingly in demand as an accompanist, capable of nuanced collaboration in vocal and instrumental repertoire. And while he takes sacred and classical music very seriously, he also loves to let loose: jazz is one of his enthusiasms, and he often brings a sense of spontaneity, swing, and improvisation into his playing where appropriate.
