Virtual Group Singing Lessons

Since the summer of 2020 we have been making a plus out of the fact that people can’t get together to sing, by holding virtual group singing lessons on Zoom. You may not be able to sing as part or a real life choir yet but you you can learn to be a stronger and more joyful singer by the time we return to live singing.

In more normal times many people don’t take singing lessons for a variety of reasons. Some don’t have time, some can’t afford lessons regularly, while, for others, it’s simply that they are shy about singing alone in front of someone else.

With our Zoom lessons, we address all of these obstacles. There is no need to travel as you take the lessons in the comfort of your own  home on Zoom. The price is extremely affordable at £7.50 per 1/2 hour session. The lessons are recorded and held on dropbox so that anyone who wishes to take part but wasn’t able to make the lesson can do so. Finally, nobody  else hears you, because you are muted, meaning you are free to risk letting out bad notes now and again.

Each week, our Musical Director, Jeff Stewart, who, as well as being a choral conductor, has sung all over the world as an operatic tenor and is on the vocal faculties of the Royal College of Music and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, takes the participants though exercises designed to help with vocal technique, including explanations of what their purpose is and why they work. We also work on a song each week which is emailed out to the participants. Most importantly, we work in line with the company motto:

“They shall laugh and sing.”
